Obtaining SharePoint Website Web server 2001 in .NET

Sharepoint website server (SPP afterwards) provides a set of COM API that can be used to accessibility its performance from .NET programs via COM Interoperability (Interop afterwards). In this post, I will explain to you how to transfer SPP performance in your .NET system.


To accessibility SPP from a customer device, you must have SPP customer set up on that device. When you set up SPP customer, it duplicates pkmcdo.dll (Publishing & Information Control Collaborative Information Objects) collection in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Files listing. This collection describes the performance that is used to perform with SPP. Before you begin using the SPP performance, you must transfer this collection in your .NET system. You can transfer it using the Project->Add Reference->.NET->Browse and choose the appropriate listing information file as you can see from the following determine.

Importing pkmcdo.dll converts the COM library to .NET assembly and adds PKMCDO namespace to the application as you can see from the following figure.

SPP allows developers to use ADO to access the database. To access the SPP functionality, we also add reference to the ADO as you can see from the above figure. To import ADO in your .NET application, you simply select Project->Add Reference->COM->Microsoft ActiveX Data Objects 2.7 Library as you can see from the following figure. 

This activity contributes ADODB namespace to the venture, which provides the performance described in ADO.
